Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development (HU) is a private Egyptian university established in 2009 by the SEKEM Initiative. It is the first university in the Middle East dedicated to sustainable development as its core educational philosophy. The university offers interdisciplinary programs in pharmacy, engineering, business and economics, organic agriculture, physical therapy, and arts, combining academic excellence with environmental responsibility, innovation, and community engagement.

📝 Admissions

Applicants must hold a recognized secondary school qualification such as Egyptian Thanaweya Amma, American Diploma, British IGCSE/A Levels, International Baccalaureate (IB), or another equivalent certificate approved by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education. Applicants are also required to complete the university's admission procedures, including an English placement test.
